The Basic Science
Lecture Series for 2008-2009 will commence on August 7, 2008. See the attached schedule for your assigned
presentation date. Please consult with
your discussant prior to your lecture date. You are required to submit a final
copy of your PowerPoint presentation one month in advance to Florence Kema at florence.kema@mountsinai.org and meet with
your reviewer - either Dr. Divino or Dr. Weber – to
discuss the presentation. After meeting
with your reviewer, please email your discussant a copy of the final
presentation at least one week prior to presentation.
The format is as follows: You should prepare a 35-40 minute PowerPoint
overview of your assigned topic with the following components:
1) Relevant case
presentation
2) Didactic review of the
topic
- Based on material from Norton Surgery, Sabiston, or the
3) Integrated questions
- Can be used from Rush Review of Surgery,
SESAP, or from an on-line pool of questions which is available on the Surgery Resident’s
Department’s home page at www.mssurg.net
